Bundaberg is home to the Asia Pacific headquarters of international company Multikraft Probiotics which is producing liquid probiotics for growers throughout Australia.
From its showcase farm located in Welcome Creek its range of products are developed in conjunction with blueberry, mango and macadamia farming.

A Bundaberg farm is in the midst of its first blueberry season, aiming to produce 100,000 punnets of the fruit this year.
Multikraft Australian Biotech Agricultural Centre of Excellence part owner Jilli O’Brien said she had 7500 blueberry plants on their showcase farm that were currently fruiting, including four different varieties.

A LIKELY increase in the protection of the Great Barrier Reef will put greater focus on greener farming methods.
The new Queensland Labor Government has appointed Member for Mount Coot-tha Steven Miles as Minister for the Great Barrier Reef, a move that suggests it will adhere to its pre-election promise to spending some $100 million over five years to reduce damage to the Great Barrier Reef.
